When is the last chance for a free cancellation?

Reservations made through our online store can be changed or cancelled until 16:00 on the day before arrival. Changing the reservation (depending on availability) is free of charge. If the reservation is cancelled, we will refund the paid amount minus a handling fee of 15 €.

If you have made a booking via booking.com or Airbnb, then these channels own terms apply.

When will I receive the key to the holiday apartment?

When you make a booking in Hiekka Booking apartments, you will receive a link to your own booking page, Guestapp-page. This link is in the reservation confirmation. The Guestapp-page includes information about arrival. The name of the apartment and keybox code OR PIN-code (depending on the chosen apartment) will appear on Guestapp-page when check-in begins.

The apartment key is situated in a keybox just outside the apartment door.

In Marina Chalets you will have a PIN-code for accessing the main doors and apartment door.

When staying in Hiekka Booking apartments, no reception visit is required. For check-in, you can fill the passenger form on your own Guestapp-page and then just enter the apartment according to your schedules within our check-in and check-out times.

When can I access the holiday apartment?

The apartment is available from 16:00 on arrival day and must be vacated by 12:00 on the day of departure. If you wish to check in earlier or check out later, please contact our customer service the day before your arrival.

You can ask for early check-in or late check-out from our customer service before arrival. Outside Kalajoki high-season (from September until May) we can be flexible in our timetables.

Where do I return the key?

On departure day, you should leave the apartment key to the keybox outside the apartment door. The keybox works with the same code shown on your Guestapp- page for the entire stay.

If you are staying in Marina Chalets , your PIN-code will be active until departure day 12:00, if we haven’t agreed on late check-out.

Is final cleaning included in the accommodation price?

Depending on the apartment you book.

Most of our apartments are self-service, meaning you can choose whether to clean the apartment yourself or purchase the service from us.

Final cleaning must be reserved in advance, no later than 1 day before arrival. The final cleaning fee is 100 € for studios and one-bedroom apartments with a sauna, and 150 € for larger apartments.

In Marina Chalets apartments, bedlinen, towels and final cleaning are always included in the accommodation price.

What should I do for the final cleaning?

Jos et ole tilannut loppusiivousta huoneistoosi lisäpalveluna (pois lukien Marina Chalets-huoneistot), on huoneisto siivottava itse lähtiessäsi. Loppusiivousta varten huoneistosta löytyy kaikki tarvittavat siivousvälineet ja -aineet. Myös loppusiivouksen ohjeistus löytyy huoneiston siivouskaapista.

Huoneistot tarkistetaan aina jokaisen asiakkaan jälkeen, jotta huoneisto on kunnossa seuraavia asukkaita varten. Jos loppusiivousta ei ole suoritettu ohjeistuksen mukaisesti, joudumme veloittamaan asiakkaalta siivousmaksun sekä toimistokulut 15 €.

If you haven’t reserved the final cleaning as an extra service (except for Marina Chalets), you must clean the apartment yourself before departure. For final cleaning, you can find the needed equipment and instructions in the apartment.

Apartments are checked after each stay to ensure they are ready for the next guest. If the final cleaning is not completed according to the instructions, we will charge a cleaning fee plus a 15 € office handling fee from you.

Cleaning instructions if I clean myself:

  • Ventilate the apartment well.
  • Vacuum the floors and carpets.
  • Mop the floors using a floor dryer and the larger blue towel.
  • Wipe tables and surfaces with the yellow microfiber cloth.
  • Clean mirrors with the blue microfiber cloth.
  • Wipe kitchen surfaces with the green microfiber cloth.
  • Clean the bathroom and toilet with the red microfiber cloth.
  • Air the bed linen and make the beds.
  • Empty the fridge/freezer and wipe the surfaces.
  • Wash the dishes and empty the dishwasher.
  • Clean the balcony/terrace and grill if available.
  • Dispose of trash in the building’s waste bins and recycle where possible.
  • Lock the windows and doors.
  • Used cleaning cloths can be left to dry in the bathroom or the cleaning closet.

If you have ordered final cleaning as an additional service, we kindly ask that you wash the dishes and empty the dishwasher, as well as dispose of trash in the building’s bins.

What amenities are included in the apartments?

Each apartment includes 3 rolls of toilet paper, bench covers for sauna, and all necessary cleaning products and tools for final cleaning. The apartments may have basic spices and coffee filters left by previous guests, but we do not replenish these items. Paper towels, baking paper, foil, or plastic wrap are not provided. However, there is a well-stocked grocery store in the Hiekkasärkkien area if you need something you forgot.

Each apartment is individually furnished and equipped (with the exception of Marina Chalets apartments). A detailed description of the amenities can be found in the apartment description. The kitchens are fully equipped with basic essentials, including a coffee maker, kettle, toaster, at least one pot, frying pan, basic cooking utensils, and enough dishware for the number of guests.

Do I bring my own bed linens?

At Hiekka Booking properties, you can choose whether to bring your own linens and towels or rent them from us.

Bedlinen rental prices:

  • Bed linen set with towels delivered: 15 € per person
  • Bed linen set with towels, pre-made: 25 € per person

We recommend booking bedlinen and towels in advance if needed. If you forget to bring your linens, don’t worry! You can always call us, and we will deliver linens to the apartment, even last minute.

At Marina Chalets Kalajoki, bedlinen, towels and final cleaning are always included in the accommodation price.

Can I bring pets to the holiday apartment?
